Airflex drum and disc brakes have years
of demonstrated performance in the mining industry and were
historically the first disc brakes put into service on
Marion shovels. Airflex units have been used for
hoist, drag, crowd, swing and propel functions on draglines and
electric mining shovels since 1982.
In addition to a long history of quality and
reliability, Airflex brakes are easier to install and maintain
than competitive units. Airflex brakes are directly
mounted to the DC motor frames, eliminating the need for mounting
adapters, which competitive units require. The motor mounting
adapters create the need for additional installation steps as
well as potential alignment and maintenance issues.
Besides offering a world class product, Airflex
has a strong team to support customers and applications. Airflex’s
sales engineers have years of experience to help assist customers in
making the best product selection and recommendations for
customization to their unique application. We also offer application
engineering assistance, engineered drawings and layouts, field
service installation and repair service world wide.
